With its well-trained and friendly staff, the atmosphere exudes warmth and professionalism, making it an inviting spot for both family gatherings and intimate dining experiences.
Dining at Hau Tak, patrons rave about standout dishes like the sweet and sour pork (咕嚕肉)—crispy and tangy—and the expertly prepared fried sticky rice (生炒糯米飯), showcasing the chef's talent in traditional Cantonese cooking. Some visitors, like FT, noted the unfortunate contrast in textures with the steamed pork patty with crab (膏蟹蒸手打肉餅), which lacked the expected flavor and hand-chopped quality. This disparity reflects the restaurant's generally above-average food quality that matches its price point.
William Ngai's experience emphasized the top-tier services and enticing dishes like roast pork and crispy chicken. Many diners agree that while the prices may be on the higher side, the authentic flavors and dining atmosphere justify the splurge. Overall, Hau Tak Restaurant is a worthy visit for Cantonese food lovers, promising delightful culinary experiences with every visit.

Very convenient located restaurant that serves delicious and refined Cantonese food. The service staff were well-trained, friendly, and efficient. The quality of the food in general was above average, which is reflected on the price tag. The standout was the fish and the sweet & sour pork (咕嚕肉), which was perfectly crispy and tangy at the same time. The fried sticky rice (生炒糯米飯) also required great technique. The most disappointing dish was the texture of the steamed pork patty with crab (膏蟹蒸手打肉餅); where the crab lacked flavor and the pork had a strange texture. I think the pork went through a food processor instead of being hand chopped. It was too smooth and also lacked difference in texture and flavor.
(3.5 stars) The food at Hau Tak Restaurant was generally good but definitely nothing to write home about, especially considering its price. We tried their recommended threadfin appetizer, pig lung soup, luffa, and steamed pork patty with crab and ended up paying around $900 per person. Nevertheless, the service and atmosphere was great. The restaurant is quite spacious and would be a decent place for gatherings with a group of friends or family.
I visited this restaurant while on holiday from Ireland with my family. I highly recommend this restaurant for the top class tasty food and excellent service. The staff were very helpful with any menu queries. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly. I chose the roast pork and the full crispy chicken dish as shown in the picture. The sauces went perfect with the dishes. I highly recommend a visit to try out some of these dishes.
Very delicious for every dishes we order For dinner we had Roasted Chicken, Fried Corn, Roasted pork, and vegetable soup of the day. Every dishes are perfect and the service are top notch We decided to come back for lunch and booked the dim sum again next day. Upon finished the dinner it was unexpected raining heavily, the restaurant also offered us to have their umbrella and return next day Definitely recommend to everyone
Food is definitely solid here. The clam here was way better than expected. The stuff crab I had to order ahead of time. They are very good in terms of accommodation. I chatted with them Via WhatsApp. Keep in mind this place is pricey but I do taste the traditional Cantonese skills set it takes to make it. Wish to go back and try more things if my wallet allows me to do so.
The food quality and services are top-class. Especially the chicken, the skin is so crispy and tasty. Along with food, the management and staff support will catch your attention. I have the best dining experience with this place. Full five starts for the food.
A rather unassuming restaurant with a plain entrance on a typical CWB street, which we would never have walked into. But we have been there twice invited by friends. On one occasion, we ordered some twelve dishes, so there was a chance to try many tastes. All were really high quality, and the roast pork loin, char-siu, in particular, would put many star rated restaurants to shame. The owner seemed to know many dinners, obviously regulars. Well worth to give it a try.
